Terms of Use

Effective from 1 October 2026

1. Introduction

These terms govern your use of the BIMtwin toolbox, the web tools available at toolbox.bimtwin.cz, api.bimtwin.cz and editor.bimtwin.eu (the “toolbox”). The toolbox is operated by BIMtwin s.r.o., company ID (IČO) 194 19 881, VAT ID CZ19419881, registered office at náměstí Winstona Churchilla 1800/2, 130 00 Prague 3, Czech Republic. The company is registered in the Commercial Register kept by the Municipal Court in Prague, section C, file 386292 (the “operator”, “we” or “us”).

2. What the toolbox offers

The toolbox is a set of professional tools for working with building information models and drawings, in particular:

• tools for IFC and IDS files (IFC merge, colour parsing, IDS checking, bSDD export, CSV/XLS to IDS conversion, writing volumes into IFC), which you can use without an account,
• the CAD Viewer for DWG, DXF, PDF and image drawings, which you can use without an account (DWG conversion requires an account),
• the gbXML editor for preparing building geometry for energy calculations, which requires an account,
• further tools that we enable for individual users by agreement (e.g. IFC to gbXML conversion, the IFC viewer, the IFC MCP interface),
• downloads of an add-in for Autodesk Revit and other desktop tools.

The range of tools may change. We may add, modify or discontinue tools.

3. User account

1. You can create an account by registering with an e-mail address and password, or by signing in with a Google or Microsoft account. If you register by e-mail, the account becomes active once you confirm the link we send you.
2. When you click the button to register or continue, you confirm that you have read these terms and agree to them. This creates a contract between you and the operator for the use of the toolbox. We record the time of your acceptance and the versions of the documents you accepted.
3. To open an account, you must be over 18 or act as a business. If you open an account for a company, you confirm that you are authorised to act for it.
4. Keep your details accurate. Protect your login credentials and do not share them. You are responsible for activity in your account. Tell us without undue delay if you suspect misuse.
5. Access tokens for the interfaces (IFC MCP, API) are personal. We may revoke them at any time.

4. Free use and its limits

1. The basic toolbox is free of charge.
2. The gbXML editor is free for single-family house models. A model may have no more than 4 zones and 1,500 m³ of enclosed volume, counting all zones including unheated ones. Larger models require an extended licence (section 5).
3. Technical limits apply to uploads, such as file size, number of files and requests per period. Each tool shows its limits. They keep the service available for all users.

5. Extended licences

1. We offer the unlimited gbXML editor and other tools under individual agreements. To request one, use the inquiry form on the website or send us an e-mail.
2. The toolbox takes no payments. We agree the price, scope and duration of an extended licence separately. That agreement takes precedence over these terms.
3. We switch on extended access in your account manually. When the agreed term ends, the account returns to the free plan.

6. Acceptable use

You must not:

• use the toolbox unlawfully or in breach of third-party rights, in particular by uploading files you are not entitled to use,
• circumvent the free-plan limits, access rights or technical restrictions,
• use the toolbox in an automated way at scale outside the interfaces we provide for that purpose, or overload our servers,
• upload malicious code or try to compromise the security of the service,
• reverse engineer or copy the toolbox, unless the law expressly allows it, or resell access to it.

7. Your files and data

1. You keep all rights to the models, drawings and other files you put into the toolbox. None of those rights pass to us.
2. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to process your files as far as needed to carry out the operation you started, such as a conversion, merge or check. We do not use your files for any other purpose.
3. The gbXML editor and drawing display in the CAD Viewer run in your browser. We only send to the server what the server has to process, such as a DWG drawing for conversion.
4. We delete uploaded files as soon as they have been processed. We keep results for up to 10 days so that you can download them, and then delete them. The toolbox is not storage or a backup service, so download and keep your results yourself.
5. You are responsible for making sure that uploading files does not infringe third-party rights or your own contractual duties, such as confidentiality towards a client.

8. Our rights

The toolbox, its software, design and documentation, and the BIMtwin brand are protected by intellectual property law. They belong to the operator or its licensors. These terms let you use them only to the extent that the toolbox makes them available. Downloaded desktop tools and add-ins may come with their own licence terms, which take precedence.

9. Availability and changes

1. We provide the toolbox “as is” and “as available”. We aim to run it reliably. Unless an individual agreement says otherwise, we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, freedom from errors or fitness for a particular purpose.
2. We may interrupt the toolbox or parts of it for maintenance, updates or security reasons. Where possible, we announce planned downtime in advance.

10. Liability

1. The toolbox is an aid for professionals. You must check its outputs with professional care, especially geometry and values prepared for energy calculations and energy performance certificates. The user, or the person authorised to prepare those documents, is responsible for the inputs, the resulting calculations and assessments, and how they are used.
2. We are liable for damage to the extent set by law. Towards businesses, as far as the law permits, we are not liable for lost profit, loss of data, or indirect or consequential damage. For free use by a business, our total liability is limited to CZK 100,000. For paid licences, it is limited to the price paid in the last 12 months.
3. These limitations do not apply to damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, to harm to health, or in other cases where the law does not allow them. If you are a consumer, the limitations apply only as far as consumer protection law allows.

11. Termination

1. You may stop using the toolbox at any time. To close your account, e-mail [email protected]. We will delete the account and the related data as described in the privacy policy.
2. If you breach these terms seriously or repeatedly, we may restrict, suspend or close your account. If there is no risk of further harm, we will warn you first.
3. We may end free access without giving a reason. We will tell you by e-mail at least 30 days in advance. Agreed extended licences are not affected.

12. Personal data

We process personal data in line with the Privacy Policy (toolbox.bimtwin.cz/privacy), which also covers cookies and browser storage.

13. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms to a reasonable extent, for example because of new tools, changes in the law or security needs. We will tell you about a change by e-mail or in the toolbox at least 15 days before it takes effect. If you do not agree, you may stop using the toolbox and ask us to close your account before that date. If you keep using the toolbox after the change takes effect, you accept it.

14. Governing law and disputes

1. This contract is governed by Czech law, in particular Act No. 89/2012 Coll., the Civil Code. The UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
2. Disputes with businesses will be decided by the competent court for the operator's registered office.
3. Consumers may contact the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (www.coi.cz), which provides out-of-court resolution of consumer disputes. This does not affect their right to go to court.

15. Final provisions

If any provision is invalid, the rest of these terms remains in force. We communicate electronically, mainly by e-mail to the address in your account. The Czech version of these terms prevails. Please send questions about these terms to [email protected].
